Politics: President Jonathan’s Statement on Presidential Election 2015

President Jonathan’s statement on presidential election 2015: Official statement by president Jonathan after the announcement of the results of presidential election
Fellow Nigerians, I thank you all for turning out in-mass for the March 28 General Elections. I promised the country free and fair elections..
I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.

Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.
As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. The unity, stability and progress of our dear country is more important than anything else.

I congratulate all Nigerians for successfully going through the process of the March 28th General Elections with the commendable enthusiasm and commitment that was demonstrated nationwide.
I also commend the Security Services for their role in ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and violence-free.

To my colleagues in the PDP, I thank you for your support. Today, the PDP should be celebrating rather than mourning. We have established a legacy of democratic freedom, transparency, economic growth and free and fair elections.
For the past 16 years, we have steered the country away from ethnic and regional politics. We created a Pan-Nigerian political party and brought home to our people the realities of economic development and social transformation.
Through patriotism and diligence, we have built the biggest and most patriotic party in Nigerian history. We must stand together as a party and look to the future with renewed optimism.
I thank all Nigerians once again for the great opportunity I was given to lead this country and assure you that I will continue to do my best at the helm of national affairs until the end of my tenure.
I have conveyed my personal best wishes to General Muhammadu Buhari.
May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
I thank you all.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR
President, Federal Republic of Nigeria

Politics: President Obama's Message to GEJ after Nigeria's Presidential Election.

Obama’s message to Jonathan: US President Barack Obama has praised President Jonathan for conceding defeat in the recently held presidential election. In a statement released today, President Obama said President Jonathan through his action placed Nigeria’s interest first.
The last few days have shown the world the strength of Nigeria’s commitment to democratic principles. By turning out in large numbers and sometimes waiting all day to cast their votes, Nigerians came together to decide the future of their country peacefully. I commend President Goodluck Jonathan and President-Elect Muhammadu Buhari for their public commitments to non-violence throughout the campaign. President Jonathan has placed his country’s interests first by conceding the election and congratulating President-Elect Buhari on his victory.
I look forward to working with President Jonathan throughout the remainder of his term, and I thank him for his many years of service and his statesmanlike conduct at this critical juncture. I urge President-Elect Buhari and President Jonathan to repeat their calls to their supporters to continue to respect the election outcomes, focus on unifying the country, and together lead Nigeria through a peaceful transition. Nigeria’s Independent National Election Commission (INEC) and its Chairman, Attahiru Jega, deserve special recognition for what independent international observers have deemed a largely peaceful and orderly vote.
I commend INEC for its extensive efforts to increase the credibility and transparency of the electoral process. Looking ahead to the gubernatorial elections on April 11, it is imperative that national attention turn to ensuring isolated logistical challenges are overcome and peace is protected, even in the most hotly contested races. On behalf of the American people, I extend congratulations to the people of Nigeria and to President-Elect Buhari and look forward to continuing to work with the newly-elected government on our many shared priorities.

How Highly Successful People Start-up Everyday
a Must-Read, for today..
#Modified by: Fortune Chinda.

Successful people make simple choices that improve their life step by step on a daily basis. Very little things ignored by the great crowd of people, are what makes great men attain success.
While most of others think that success is achieved over night, the truth lies in easy and simple things that are done on daily basis.
You will be very surprised by the list of what successful people do every day to make sure they move forward and not backwards.

In order to try out a new path you should without any doubt consider starting to follow this list on daily basis beginning today.

The first step to begin a successful week is to start with a positive attitude.
The simplest way to do that is to smile. Always put up a smile; it addresses the mind of everyman.

Studies show that even a fake smile can stimulate the reduction of endorphins, hormones of joy that improve our mood.

Try to get excited about what you are going to do as you start-up your week and what you can achieve and focus on the things you are striving to accomplish.
Indeed, the mood you set-in for work or in carrying-out your duties, is of utmost importance.
Give it a try today!

#New Post: ARTICLE - LOVE is the Ultimate

Article: by Fortune'Chinda - Convener, (the MTYF Project)

GOD IS LOVE!
Love is the Ultimate..
(John 3:16) - God so loved us, that He decided to give the only son begotten of Him, to die for our redemption; irrespective of our sinful nature. #Can you beat that?

(Hebrews 13:1) - Let brotherly love continue..
#Let this love shown to us continue amongst our fellow men here on earth.
(1 John 4:7-8) - Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love

• For every hate, give Love in return; for every Love shown, give more Love.
• Love is sweet when it's new; but it is sweeter when it's true.
• Love, if it is not nourished, it dies a natural death.
• If you love someone, tell them; forget about the rules or the fear of looking ridiculous; what is really ridiculous is passing up on an opportunity to tell someone that your heart is invested in them.
• Two important thoughts to bear in mind: “Use things, not people” and “Love people, not things”.
• Don’t try to be everything to everyone; be everything to someone.
• Making one person smile can change the world – Maybe not the whole world, but their world.
• To forgive is the highest & most beautiful form of love.
• Love never fails. If it fails, then it’s not love.

New Post: #Christmas - Peace on earth, Goodwill to all men

Seeking and Celebrating the Real Meaning of Christmas

Sometimes it seems that the gap between Christmas and the rest of the year is getting shorter. This eagerness to get a jump on holiday cheer is purely practical from a retailer’s point of view: Stores typically make more than half of their yearly sales during these few short weeks.

Yet Christmas is and should be so much more than what we buy. Gifts are fun, both to give and receive, but they are only symbolic of a much greater gift:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
The love of God came down to earth - now that is something to celebrate!

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by the busyness of Christmas. That doesn’t mean we have to lose track of the significance of this time of year, or miss out on the opportunities it can present.

Ways that you can incorporate the real meaning of Christmas into your family’s holiday:

A Savior Has Been Born to You
Throw a birthday party for Jesus, complete with birthday cake. This can be particularly meaningful for younger children, as it puts Christ’s birth in a context they can relate to.

Glory to God in the Highest
I come from a musical family, so music has always been a big part of our Christmas celebrations. But you don’t have to be a musician to celebrate the birth of the Savior through Christmas carols, or to share with others the good news of His redeeming love. Gather friends and family and go caroling in a wing at your local hospital or seniors’ residence. Check with your church or other local churches to see if there are any folks who can’t get out of their homes during the holidays and take your caroling to them. Music is a great way to open a door for talking with people about the spiritual context of the holiday season.

Good Will Toward Men
Gift giving is a wonderful way to reflect to each other, God’s love for us. This seems particularly true when we are giving of our time and gifts to those in need. Here are just a few examples:

Good News of Great Joy...for all people – Christmas is a time of unusual openness to spiritual things. Jesus is on everyone’s lips, whether they know Him or not. There is no greater gift you can give those who have not yet met the Lord than to share with them the good news of the real Christmas.

Enjoy all the good things Christmas has to offer this year as you celebrate the reason for the season:
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).
